7 Ways To Use The Power Of The Law Of Attraction To Ensure That Your Past Does Not Dictate Your Future

Don’t let the past steal your present. ~ Terry Guillemets

Too many times we allow our past to dictate our future. Here are 7 Ways of Ensuring that this does not happen by using the power of the law of attraction

1    Be willing to let go

The law of attraction tells us that our thoughts, actions, beliefs and deeds attract to ourselves all that is of the same frequency.

Therefore, in order to be able to move on you first need to be able to let go of the past otherwise you will be unable to move into your future because you will not only recreate, but actually intensify the historical frequencies and vibrations associated with your past events.

This is the idea behind absolution which also should involve a freeing from blame or guilt and a release from consequences, obligations, or penalties for these all bring with them the old unwanted vibrations that you are attempting to leave behind

This is ironically, completely the opposite of what happens in today’s culture where blame, labelling, guilt and penalty are all the order of the day, ensuring that the past is carried around like a backpack, forever dragging you down

The most important thing is to forgive yourself and others in order to be able to move on

2    Find a meaning and purpose that is higher than yourself

This does not necessarily have to be ‘God’ but certainly it will help if you can find a reason to grow that is bigger than yourself. This could be the love for your children or of another person or something ideal which inspires you. Having a purpose that is greater than yourself will inspire you to change and allow you to leave your past behind

3    Change your environment

The law of attraction tells us that we will able strongly affected by those we mix with and where we hang out – remember that proverb that says that if you stay long enough in a barbers you will eventually get a haircut

If, for example an unfortunate past includes people or places that influenced your actions then you need to move away from them and spend time with the people of your new future

Again this highlights the problems with today’s penal system where people who have stolen for the first time are placed in close confinement with hardened criminals, almost guaranteeing that they will re-offend in the future

4    Learn from the past, do not be controlled by it

If you need to dwell on the past at all then try to think of the lessons that you have learned and how this has allowed you to become a better person in your future. Keeping a diary is a great way to be able to do this objectively.

This ability to concentrate on the lessons learned will prevent you from creating disempowering stories that will hold you back in the future as you are always looking at the silver lining, as my girlfriend is always telling me “ there is always an upside”. Try to find an upside in the now where you can.

5    Learn to practice gratitude

“If we do not feel grateful for what we already have, what makes us think we’d be happy with more?”

Learn to be thankful and to give thanks for the new you – this will attract more of the same to you.

There is always some who is not as fortunate as you. Be grateful for the little things and celebrate every small win throughout your day. By doing this you will feel happier, which can only be a good thing.

Do not look back and lament. But also be careful not to dismiss out of hand the present moment in eager anticipation for that future want. We must enjoy the journey, because actually the goal is always moving…the day you get there…there will always be somewhere else to go.

6    Speak to your future rather than your past self

The words that we speak carry energy and meaning and will attract that energy to us. All too often I hear people saying ‘I’m so stupid, ’ I’m always late or ‘I’m so untidy’ and all this does is to drag that person into historical ways by repeating old frequencies

If you want to move on you need to be saying ‘I will learn’ I will be on time or I will have tidiness n my life’ all of which will help to attract these qualities to yourself and escape from historical patterns

Always focus on the lessons learned and it won’t create disempowering stories that hold you back. Learning to embrace the “Silver Lining” in anything you do is one of the greatest qualities a human being can posses.Always focus on the lessons learned and it won’t create disempowering stories that hold you back.

7    Act as the version of your future self

The ability to act as if your future has already happened is a fundamental part of making the power of the law of attraction work for you

Acting ‘as if’ allows you to tune in to the frequency of your new you and to attract to yourself the new energies that you want to acquire.
